JSON RTE Comments

The JSON RTE Comments feature in Contentstack lets you add comments directly within the JSON Rich Text Editor. This functionality enables smooth collaboration among team members during content creation and review.

Add Comments in the JSON RTE

You can add comments directly within the JSON RTE to start a discussion with collaborators.

To add a JSON RTE comment within the JSON RTE, log in to your Contentstack account, and perform the following steps:

  1. Go to your stack and open an existing entry.
  2. Navigate to a field with the JSON Rich Text Editor.
  3. You can add comments in multiple ways:
    1. Add a comment to a block: Hover over a block and click the Add comment icon.
    2. Add a comment to text: Highlight the desired text and click the Add comment icon.
    3. Add a comment to an image: Hover over the image block and click the Add comment icon.
  4. In the comment modal that appears, enter your message and click Post.

Note: Each JSON RTE comment can contain up to 500 characters.

Each new comment starts a discussion thread. You can have multiple active discussions within the same JSON RTE field.

Tag Users or Roles in Comments

To notify team members or roles, use the “@” symbol to tag them in your comment.

Tagged users receive both email and in-app notifications. Clicking a notification will take them directly to the relevant discussion.

Edit or Delete Comments

You can update or remove existing comments when needed.

  1. Click the Comment icon next to the commented text.
  2. Click the Edit icon to modify the comment or the Delete icon to remove it.

Resolve a Discussion

Once a discussion is complete, you can mark it as resolved.

  1. Click the Resolve button in the discussion thread.
  2. Alternatively, use the Resolve option from the discussion panel on the right.

View Resolved Discussions

All discussions—active and resolved—are accessible from the Discussions panel on the right-hand side of the entry. This panel provides an overview of all comment threads within the JSON RTE.
